Here at 6 of One…, I follow many of the same commenting rules as the WordPress.com News Blog.

I want this blog to be a place to interact with you, and for you to interact with one another. But if comments are made that interfere with that positive experience, or just ruin it, they will be deleted. I’ll be the sole arbiter ofwhat doesn’t belong here. But I’m sure you won’t have any difficulty avoiding these types of comments:

  • One-word comments like “Cool!” or “Thanks!” I do love the appreciation and flattery, but I’d rather hear about exactly what you loved, and why.
  • Shameless self-promotion. Comments that contain links to your site within the body or otherwise encourage folks to visit your blog are a no-go. If you’d like to increase traffic to you blog, check out this page for tips.
  • Multiple comments by one author. I’m glad you want to be engaged, but please give others a chance to speak, too.
  • Extended comments. If it’s starting to feel like you should really break it into paragraphs, it’s probably too long. Maybe create a new post on your blog about it. : )
  • Personal comments about other commenters. Is this really the place? No, it is not.
  • Comments written entirely in another language. I may speak more than one language, but it may not be the one you use to comment. If I can’t read it, I can’t moderate it. And if the other readers can’t read it…it interferes with that positive experience I mentioned.
  • Those that are difficult to understand due to serious grammatical and spelling errors.

I hope you’ll appreciate and follow these guidelines. I don’t want this to be a boring and stuffy place, but constructive, considerate, and fun.

  1. Hey just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few of the
images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I’ve tried it in two different browsers and both show the same outcome.
